For Christmas, 2007, Pipeco provided support to some special people
in our community who otherwise would not have been able to enjoy
the holiday celebration.
We were able to accomplish this with the help of two wonderful
organizations, Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM), who also
assisted with our Christmas 2006 project, and Boys and Girls Harbor
in La Porte, Texas. Each of these organizations provided us with
links to those individuals and families that needed our help the
most. And because of them, we were able to make this Christmas
a little brighter for each of these families and individuals.
With NAM’s help, we were able to sponsor 10 elderly or special
needs families again this year by providing Christmas gifts, special
needs assistance and pantry items. In addition to specific requests,
we surprised our participants with electronic items, blankets,
heaters or fans, pots and pans and even a record player.
Boys and Girls Harbor provides a safe and loving environment for
children who have experienced hardship, neglect, abandonment or
abuse. Through them, we were able to sponsor 3 cottages for a
total of 18 children. In addition to toys, clothes, computers
and other electronics, we also provided many items needed for
each cottage. We attended their annual Christmas party, where
we were able to share in their joy of Christmas 2007.
The gratitude displayed by our families, seniors and children
as we delivered their gifts made our Christmas 2007 Project a
rewarding and memorable experience for all of our employees.
